March 9 - beachy day

Rained last night and into the morning but still a nice warm temperature.

Tried the first weird fruit this morning, Brazilian Grape Tree fruit.

Looks like a cross between a purple grape and a cherry....grows on the trunk of the tree. It's eaten like a grape with seeds, pop it in, get the goodies out and spit the seed..... the outside is tougher than a grape...almost chewy.... the first taste is sweet followed by a sour or tangy  flavour...interesting, glad  Marianne and I  tried it ... the guys a hard no!...and they were free from the vendor...but not a do-over for me...but Marianne loved them.

Next the Black Sapote....it's ready to eat when the outside looks very overripe and very squishy. You cut it open and the inside looks like and has the texture of chocolate pudding. The flavour is very mild, nothing stands out for us. They say it has hints of caramel, honey and nutty.... the jury is out on this one. Lots of nutrients in it and not sweet at all.

Marianne is on the hunt for some oven mits so off to the Farmers Market! We were amazed for busy it was.....but it was not a market but a Church service!

But there was a flower and fruit tent...the flowers are amazing here and reasonably priced.

Checked out a new beach for a bit....

Lots of little tide pools.. only saw a few teeny fish.

Back to Hapuna Beach for some sunshine and beach walking..

This guy loving the chicks on the beach!

Appies at the resort bar and sunset on the drive home! I could get used to this!

I think Lucy is loving life right now!  Just finished dinner and now ready for snuggling on the couch!

Another fruit tasting! Guave... pretty  but not a fan...
